Dr. Peter L. DeSciscio

Dr. Peter DeSciscio attended the New Jersey Dental School and graduated with a Doctor of Dental Medicine Degree (DMD) in 1985. While at New Jersey Dental School, he was elected President of the Student Government Association for 2 years.
In addition to practicing dentistry, Dr. DeSciscio teaches at the Dental School in Newark, New Jersey in the Department of Restorative Dentistry, where he holds the title of Professor. In 2004, Dr. DeSciscio received the Excellence in Teaching Award awarded by the University. Because of his great rapport with his students, you may often see dental students or college students in our office ‘shadowing” Dr. DeSciscio.
Dr. DeSciscio has also been very much involved in the governance of dentistry both in the state and on a national level. He has served as President of the Fauchard Dental Society of New Jersey, Inc., The New Jersey Dental School Alumni Association, the Middlesex County Dental Society, the New Jersey Dental School Academic Assembly as well as President of the American Association of Dental Examiners. Dr. DeSciscio has been the President of the New Jersey State Board of Dentistry, and was recently elected the President of the New Jersey Dental Association. He was also elected into and awarded Fellowship in the American College of Dentists and the International College of Dentists. Both of these prestigious honors were awarded by his peers.
When Dr. DeSciscio is not in the office, he is usually traveling to one of the various organizations’ meetings. Over the years, Dr. DeSciscio has given back to the community, lecturing in grammar schools, high schools, colleges and attending career days. He has also managed Little League teams in both North Edison and the Fords-Clara Barton Leagues.
