Chicago, IL– Becker’s Dental & DSO Review published their 30 DSOs to Know in 2020 list, stating that Dental365 should be everyone’s radar this year. Becker states that DSOs continue to have a strong hold on the industry, even with the uncertainty that 2020 has brought.

The 30 DSOs to Know list includes practices with at least 10 or more affiliated offices and no Dental Service Organizations can pay to be included on this list.

Dental365 has 48 affiliated practices throughout the New York Metropolitan Area and is expanding on the East Coast.

New Hyde Park, NY – In response to how COVID-19 has affected dentistry, the latest article from WebMD stated, “A combination of delayed care and stress have led some dentists to see cracked teeth, sore jaws, and cavities.”

The largest dental practice in the New York Metropolitan Area & CT, Dental365 was opened for emergency dentistry throughout the pandemic and saw over 50,000 emergency patients since March. According to Dr. Scott Asnis, Founder and CEO of Dental365, the most common problems patients came in for included, “cracked teeth, extensive decay, the start of gum disease, and TMJ pain, from grinding…” Asnis also informed WebMD that the stress of COVID-19 and grinding teeth were not (and are not) the only reasons for cracked teeth. “Cavities can weaken the enamel and cause it.” Teeth can also crack if the bite is off or a filling is too big.

WebMD also discusses the American Dental Association (ADA) and CDC protocols that were put in place for dentists to follow throughout the pandemic. Dr. Asnis closes, by letting WebMD readers know, “It’s OK to ask your dentist if they follow ADA and CDC protocols.” Patients should feel comfortable asking their dental providers the questions that help them feel safe returning to the office.

New Hyde Park, NY – Dental365’s SVP of Clinical Affairs, Dr. Michael Fleischer spoke to USA Today about how the pandemic has affected dental health, stating that, “Overall, patients’ mouths are much dirtier than they were before…their gums are more inflamed.”

USA Today spoke to several dental experts about the overall effects of COVID-19 on dental health, including an increase in the number of patients coming for emergency dental visits due to cracked teeth, most likely caused by the stress of the pandemic. In addition, many patients have delayed their visits, even when in pain. Dr. Fleischer told USA Today, “With dentistry, things only get worse.” As time goes on, dental fixes usually become more expensive, and the damages more permanent—which is exactly why it is important that patients do not push back their appointments.

New Hyde Park, NY – Voting during the upcoming election in November will look vastly different this year than in years past. With social distancing concerns and scrutiny around the United States Postal Service and potential for fraudulent voting, everyone wants to make sure their vote counts.

While some people are putting off going to the dentist, Dr. Scott Asnis, Founder and CEO of Dental365 explains that patient visits at Dental365 “are up 27% from last July,” having seen 50,000 patients since the March.

New York, NY – Businesses throughout the world have been hard hit by the Coronavirus pandemic, causing high levels of unemployment.  The Wall Street Journal reports on employment rebound, specifically noting that the dental field has rebounded faster than any other industry sector according to the Department of Labor—more than doubling employment levels since the low point in April.
