Dr. Blair Schachtel

Dr. Blair Schachtel received his BA degree from Tulane University in New Orleans and then went on to earn his Doctorate of Medicine and Dentistry from the University of Pennsylvania Dental School. He also did extensive training in oral medicine and infectious disease while working on HIV-positive patients at Penn’s Infectious Disease Clinic. Following his time in Philadelphia, Dr. Schachtel earned the position of Chief Resident at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center.
After working for several years at Gramercy Park Dental in New York City, Dr. Schachtel has been practicing dentistry and caring for his patients for the last 20 years. He is also an active member of the Spear Education Study Club, along with the Spider Study Club to stay in the forefront of dental advances and research.During his free time, he volunteers at the St. Barnabas Medical Center where he has been on staff for 15 years. Dr. Schachtel is highly skilled in cosmetic dentistry and always up-to-date with the latest in painless dentistry.
Dr. Schachtel prides himself on his long standing, rewarding relationships with his patients, staff and colleagues alike. He has been married to his wife, Amy, for over 20 years and has two daughters both studying at The Ohio State University. He enjoys traveling, playing golf and most of all, spending time with his two beloved golden retrievers, Gus and Chelsea.
