Meeting the Needs of Our Veterans

Veterans Day celebrated at Dental365[New Hyde Park, NY] – November 13, 2018 – In honor of Veterans Day, Dental365 provided much-needed free dental care to nearly 100 military veterans across New York City and Long Island. Providing this care were over 30 employees that graciously volunteered their time in thanks and appreciation for the service of our veterans.

This annual event, in its second year, took place on November 11th at Dental365 locations—Tribeca, Manhattan, Forest Hills, Queens and Centereach and Bethpage, Long Island. Patients received cleanings, x-rays, full-mouth debridements, fillings, extractions and comprehensive examinations at no charge.

Lack of adequate dental care for military veterans is a significant problem in the military community. Currently the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) only provides dental benefits to veterans who are classified as 100 percent disabled, have a service-connected dental condition or have been a prisoner of war. This leads to a serious lack of proper dental care, leaving our veterans vulnerable to major, evehn life-threatening health problems.

This Veteran’s Day initiative was a major success, with the company nearly tripling the number of veterans served from the previous year. This annual event represents Dental365’s continued commitment to the veteran community of New York.

All of us at Dental365 are thrilled to have had such a successful day of thanks to our military veterans. I am proud of our many employees that volunteered their time to make this event a success and thankful to the many veterans who have trusted us with their dental care.”– Scott Asnis, DDS, Founder & CEO, Dental365

Dental365 to Provide Free Dental Services to Military Veterans

Veterans Day_Dental365New Hyde Park, NY – October 10, 2018 – There are over 20 million veterans across the United States with less than 15% qualifying for dental care. To help bridge this gap, Dental365 will be hosting a day of FREE dental services for all military veterans on Sunday, November 11 from 9am-3pm at participating locations.

Currently, the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) only provides dental benefits to veterhtans who are classified as 100 percent disabled, have a service-connected dental condition or have been a prisoner of war. With high costs prohibiting many veterans from securing additional insurance coverage, our heroes are lacking adequate dental care which can lead to serious, even life-threatening health problems.

In honor of Veteran’s Day, Dental365 will offer cleanings, x-rays, full-mouth debridement, comprehensive examinations and other same day services at the following locations:

  • Bethpage, Long Island 4216 Hempstead Tpke
  • Centereach, Long Island 1946 Middle Country Road
  • Tribeca, Manhattan 19 Murray Street
  • Forest Hills, Queens 7009 Austin Street

Participating locations will be accepting walk-ins—alternatively, veterans can schedule an appointment for care by calling 844-636-7331.

Founder and CEO of Dental365, Dr. Scott Asnis is no stranger to the veteran community—he began his over 30-year career with a residency at the Brooklyn Veterans Administration Hospital in 1984, where he provided direct care to eligible military veterans. Dr. Asnis and the Dental365 team are honored to be providing these vital services to all our nation’s heroes in celebration of Veteran’s Day on November 11th.

“It’s important that we continue to support our veterans after they return home. Our Veteran’s Day initiative is just one of the many ways Dental365 is doing our part to give back and show our appreciation of the many risks and sacrifices made by all.” – Scott Asnis, DDS

Dental365 Launches Dental365Sleep

Dental365SleepNew York, NY – If you are among the 25-30 million adults in the US who have suffered from obstructive sleep apnea, or have a bed partner that snores in a disruptive way, then you know how it can negatively affect your and/or your partner’s day. Sleeplessness and poor sleep quality can lead not only to excessive day time sleepiness, but more significant medical concerns including weight gain, forgetfulness, blood sugar variability, heart disease, high blood pressure and tragic accidents to name just a few. Finally, New Yorkers have a convenient solution that may not only improve the quality of their life, but add precious years as well.

Dental365Sleep was primarily established to improve the likelihood that patients with sleep related breathing disorders like obstructive sleep apnea and snoring would be identified, screened and then guided to the most appropriate care as a result of collaboration with the medical community. Knowing that people visit the dentist on a more routine and repetitive basis than visits to physicians, Dental365Sleep recognizes the opportunity to not only send screened patients to sleep physicians for consultation, but to also be a respected and sought after provider of customized oral appliance therapy (OAT).

Up until the past 15 to 20 years, most people who snored and/or had Obstructive Sleep Apnea were primarily treated with CPAP (Continuous Positive Airway Pressure) therapy. Although CPAP has been shown to be an effective sleep therapy, the necessity to wear a facial mask (of all shapes and sizes) attached to an air pump, has been an impossible option for over 60% of patients. As a result, many suffering from obstructive sleep apnea and disruptive snoring have either given up on this therapy or shied away from trying it all together. As a result, oral appliance therapy, which has been scientifically proven to be effective and embraced by patients, has gained a great deal of attention.

These appliances work by preventing the tongue from falling back into the airway and creating obstruction of airflow. As a result, airflow occurs with less resistance with the end result of easier breathing and the reduction or elimination of snoring and or obstructive sleep apnea. The Dental365Sleep team has been well trained and ready to provide thoughtful care to ensure maximum compliance/benefit, ultimately leading to a more restful night of sleep.

Once the severity of the patient’s sleep-related disorder is established and it is determined they may be a candidate for an oral appliance, Dental365Sleep will walk patients through each step and make the process as seamless as possible. In addition our insurance specialists are available to assist efforts in maximizing insurance benefits that are often available. With many locations throughout New York City and Long Island, Dental365Sleep is posed to influence how sleep breathing disorders are identified and managed in the years to come.

Dr. Scott Asnis, founder and CEO of Dental365 comments on the opening of Dental365Sleep: “We are excited to make custom-fitted oral sleep appliances conveniently available to the New York metro area. Snoring and sleep apnea are serious issues, and we’re here to help.”

Dental365Sleep is open weekdays, evenings and weekends, so visits fit into patients’ busy schedules. Call today at 844-831-6100 or visit Dental365Sleep.com to see if your medical insurance is accepted and schedule an appointment to get on the road to better sleep.

Changing Demographics and Economics are Leading to Shifts in How Dental Practices Operate

Dr. Scott Asnis has been featured in an article discussing younger dentists graduating with epic levels of debt, who often want a work-life balance that most business ownerships today do not provide. By August Dental365 will have at least 16 practices on the Island and 27 overall. Currently, Dental365 has 65 dentists on staff, 40 on the Island, with another four or five Long Island practices will be folded Newsday logointo the company.

“I’ve been a dentist for 35 years, and I understand the stress involved in running a practice,” Asnis said. “That’s why dentists reach out to us all the time, multiple times per week.”

Dental365 handles insurance claims, human resources, payroll and supply purchases for practices they take over, Asnis said.

“We pay their malpractice, and we also support their technology,” he said. “We’ve spent hundreds of thousands of dollars on new technology.”
